2005 New York City Mayor

Other than the two open Governor races, one of which leans Republican and the other Democratic, there is one more high profile race. Michael Bloomberg, the Mayor of New York, is up for re-election, and polls to this point did not indicate that he would win re-election.

However, the Democrats are forming their traditional circular firing squad in NYC, and a new Marist Poll reports that Mayor Mike is benefitting. Bloomberg leads Fernando Ferrer, the leading Democratic candidate, 51%-38%. Similarly, Bloomberg’s lead over the other Democratic candidates has also gone up.
