2005 New Jersey Governor Race

It looks like Doug Forrester has pulled into a lead for the Republican Gubernatorial nomination. In the latest Quinnipiac Poll, Forrester leads Bret Schundler 39%-33%. In the previous poll, Forrester led 36%-33. Among likely voters,

Given the internal data of the poll, it looks fair to say that the race is Forrester’s to lose. Given that Corzine will self-fund, Forrester is probably the stronger nominee for the fall campaign. However, he will have to be much more dynamic than he was in 2002.

I would say that this race leans Democratic.
