The U.S. House of Representatives passed yet another proposed Constitutional Amendment to ban the burning of the American flag.
The roll call was as follows:
Democrats in favor = 77.
Republicans against = 12.
Totals: 286-130-18, in favor.
Now the measure moves on to the U.S. Senate, where, as even people like me, who attended public schools, are well aware, it will take 67 votes for the resolution to move on to the individual states for ratification.
My personal preference, FWIW, would be for the measure to fall exactly one vote short of passing through the Senate. And I hope that Debbie Stabenow and Maria Cantwell vote “No.” For the types of voters who actually decide elections in Michigan and Washington State (especially the former) won’t take too kindly to those types of free speech sentiments.
Whether or not flag burning is banned does not affect our day-to-day lives. But removing liberal Moonbats from office most certainly does …..
