Federal Government Runs a Monthly Surplus of 22.4 Billion Dollars

Yep.
Last month the evil gummint ran a surplus of 22.431 billion dollars. I blame the economy for that.
Incidentally, in June 2004, the gummint also ran a surplus, but only 19.124 billion dollars. Ergo, the country’s fiscal situation has shown improvement — year-over-year — over each one of the past four months.
And all of that is before next year’s austerity budget goes into effect.
So, does that mean I’m sanguine about our continuing annual budget shortfall???
Nope.
Not at all.
There’s still lots and lots of work to do. I know that. I’m not freakin’ stoo-pid.
But this is not a post about fiscal policies. It’s actually a media-bias post — in disguise.
For the chances of the national partisan-liberal media running the exact same headline as I just did are about the same as one of those reflexively-contrarian, trust-fund liberal college students grasping reality:
