2006 New York Governor Race

By Alexander K. McClure ~ July 16th, 2005 @ 2:02 pm

As New York Republicans continue to wait for Governor George Pataki to make a decision about next year, the Governor is thinking about 2008, making a trip to Iowa to explore the political climate.

Frankly, I cannot understand why Pataki views himself as Presidential material. Yes, he is a three-term Governor of New York. But that certainly did not make Nelson Rockefeller the Republican nominee. While Pataki has not been as combative as Rockefeller in confronting the more conservative wing of the party, his social views make him just as unacceptable.

Pataki might as well run for re-election. He has nothing to lose.
