2008 Republican Presidential Nomination

Two days after denying that he was interested in seeking the Republican Presidential nomination in 2008, incumbent Senator Rick Santorum has cracked open the door, saying he just might.

Frankly, this was a very stupid move by the Senator. I would imagine that one of the problems that is causing his bad poll numbers is the perception that Santorum is more interested in national political and social issues than Pennsylvania concerns.

Conclusively saying that he would not for President in 2008 would have done a lot to assuage those concerns. My hope is that Santorum will again rule out a Presidential bid in 2008.
