I can’t help but wonder if those “military lawyers” were acting on the orders of, oh, say, William Cohen. And if Cohen was heeding the advice of, oh, let’s say, Jamie Gorelick. Or perhaps even Janet Reno, upon Gorelick’s recommendations.
