Club for Growth Sued by FEC

In another example of why campaign finance “reform” is evil, the Club for Growth is being sued by the FEC. You can read the explanation here.

Note how the FEC has not gone after the ultra-liberal groups who supported John Kerry last year. Groups like MoveOn.org and America Coming Together had a revolving-door arrangement with the Kerry campaign, where campaign staff would move on to MoveOn or ACT. These organizations spent hundreds of millions of dollars in massive contributions from people like George Soros, who declared that defeating President Bush was “the central focus of my life.”

By going after the Club, the FEC is making it clear that campaign finance “reform” laws are a hammer to be used by liberals and incumbents against conservatives and challengers.

What can you do about this? Well, you can join the Club for Growth! That’s the best possible answer to give the FEC. I’ve been a member for years now, and the club has racked up a spectacular record of electoral success in that time.
