$1 Trillion!
Friday, February 27th, 2009One trillion dollars. That’s how much the Obama Democrats want to raise taxes.
They say the good Lord put Republicans on earth to cut taxes. Every Republican must oppose this catastrophic tax hike with every fiber of his being.
California unemployment hits 10.1%
Friday, February 27th, 2009… and we’re just getting warmed up.
No matter how high Schwarzenegger raises taxes, he’s not going to fill the budget hole. It’s the spending, stupid! And marginal increases in tax rates will be offset by decreases in taxable economic activity (investing, working, consuming).
California is doomed. For more on that subject, see RealClearMarkets:
There’s [...]
Boehner: But it’s so hard to explain conservatism
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009TalkingPointsMemo:
“We have a tougher job than our friends across the aisle. They’ve been offering Americans a free lunch for the last 80 years, rather successfully,” Boehner said, at a lunch hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. “Those of us that believe in a smaller, more accountable government, we have a tougher time making our principles [...]
Who Is Peter Schiff?
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009Never heard of the name Peter Schiff? My Ron Paul & Libertarian friends here will surely know who he is. Peter is an economic commentator and author who was an economic adviser for Ron Paul’s campaign in the 2008 Republican Party primaries.
He appears on almost every cable news channel’s finance and stock shows to offer [...]
Yay, We’re Saved!!
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009Inspired. Psyched, and a feeling of renewed hope for the future!!
Those are the feelings I have a little more then 16 hours after watching President Obama’s first official unofficial address to Congress last night. Like MSNBC talk show blow hard Chris Matthews, I too have felt that tingle up and down my leg and have [...]
Obama Speech Open Thread
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009Click Comments and discuss today’s events.
UPDATE: I have quite a good track record of making quick, accurate judgements of how a speech is going. In Obama’s case, this speech will diminish him, rather than help him gain support. Rattling off a laundry list of policies makes him look like a pedestrian politician, almost an accountant, [...]
As if on cue…
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009PoliPundit, last week: Barack Obama = George W. Bush II
Gallup, today:
One month down, 47 to go.
And Barack Obama’s poll numbers have slid almost 10% already. According to the latest Gallup Poll, the new president’s approval rating of 68% in January has slipped now to 63%, about average for recent new presidents one month in.
What isn’t [...]
If I Don’t Sip, You Must Acquit
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009You know how leftist soccer moms and other fashionable enviro-nazis love to drink bottled water and drive SUVs, even as they urge everyone to give up cars and electricity? Well Mayor Gavin Newsom (D-SF) has been caught in his hypocrisy:
This week, the City Insider spotted an almost empty case of bottled water in the back [...]
Senator Bunning Puts Foot In Mouth
Monday, February 23rd, 2009The storyline:
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning predicted over the weekend that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg would likely be dead from pancreatic cancer within nine months.
During a wide-ranging 30-minute speech on Saturday at the Hardin County Republican Party’s Lincoln Day Dinner, Bunning said he supports conservative judges “and that’s going to [...]
NY Gov: Millionaires’ Tax Not Just For Millionaires’
Monday, February 23rd, 2009The storyline:
ALBANY — Just how much money does it take to be rich in this state? What started as a debate over whether to hit the wealthy with higher income taxes to help balance the state budget has expanded to talk of a “millionaires’ tax” on households with annual incomes exceeding $250,000.
That means a tax [...]
Wall Street Greed vs. Government Misdeed
Monday, February 23rd, 2009Barack Obama is right, the greed of Corporate Executives is really hurting this Country and the working stiff who can barely get by from paycheck to paycheck, IF they even still have a job.
The scenario: The thought of the “Boss” receiving obscene pay raises and bonuses while the company he/she oversees is struggling and looking [...]
Obama & The Democrats Vs. The Constitution
Monday, February 23rd, 2009Get used to it. We will see this scenario routinely over the next 4 years. It always seems to be the Democrats vs. the Constitution over something when it suits their needs to usurp our Founding Document(s).
The storyline:
State governors — looking down the gun barrel of long-term spending forced on them by the Obama “stimulus” [...]
Obama = Bush II
Monday, February 23rd, 2009Earlier, I made the case that Obama is George W. Bush II. Obama is determined to prove me right:
President Obama is eager to seek a bipartisan solution to ensure the long-term solvency of Social Security, people who have spoken with him say, but he is running into opposition from his party’s left and from [...]
MOAPP: The Mother of All Printing Presses
Saturday, February 21st, 2009Portfolio magazine:
The $1.35 trillion that the Federal Reserve created out of nothing from September through December would stretch nearly to the sun and back if $1 bills were lined up end to end.
Got wheelbarrows?
As if on Cue…
Saturday, February 21st, 2009Polipundit, on Wednesday:
