Bud Cramer
Thursday, June 30th, 2005Republicans continue to press Bud Cramer, practically a Republican, to formally switch parties. However, he stubbornly remains a Democrat.
That is okay. When he retires, this seat is certain to flip Republican. That will leave the once proud Democratic Party of Alabama with one seat in the congressional delegation.
2006 Minnesota Senate Race
Thursday, June 30th, 2005Democrats are expected to have a costly and brutal primary in Minnesota, giving Republicans who are solidly behind Congressman Mark Kennedy the advantage for the fall campaign.
Illustrating A Well Known Fact
Thursday, June 30th, 2005“Nancy Pelosi is an idiot,” and Betsy Newmark shares the latest evidence of this.
2006 Pennsylvania Governor Race
Thursday, June 30th, 2005The New York Times has an extensive article examining the prominent African-Americans running for Governor in Pennsylvania and Ohio as well as Senate seats in Maryland and Michigan.
The article specifically examines the candidacy of Lynn Swann in Pennsylvania. The frontrunner for the Republican nomination, Swann has been winning support from prominent GOP activists. [...]
More on the Census Data
Thursday, June 30th, 2005According to the new Census Data, Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland are all losing population.
Boston is losing population. That means one less Democratic congressman from the state of Massachusetts in 2011.
San Francisco, for reasons I don’t understand, is losing population.
Poor Democrats. Defeat just keeps staring them in the face.
Pennsylvania Drifting Republican?
Thursday, June 30th, 2005Pittsburgh and Philadelphia continue to lose population.
There are only so many games that Democrats can play in these two cities before it gets too obvious that Republicans might, might be tempted to do something about it.
I find it amusing that as Philly’s population shrinks, turnout seems to increase.
Exit Strategies
Thursday, June 30th, 2005Below I quoted Christopher Hitchens as brilliantly noting, “I see that nobody as yet requires an “exit strategy” from Afghanistan.” I would add that I am not hearing a call for an exit strategy from Bosnia either. If anyone knows of any politicians currently calling for one from Afghanistan, please let me know [...]
When Are All You Pro-War Bush Lovers Going To Enlist?
Thursday, June 30th, 2005One of the favorite talking point questions liberals like to pull out when they are losing an argument on Iraq is “Why don’t you enlist then, or send your son or daughter?” I see this question at least a half dozen times a day in comments at Polipundit, in e-mails, and at liberal [...]
Hillary Alert!!!
Thursday, June 30th, 2005Everyone’s favorite cattle futures trader is out and about, flexing her political muscles yet again.

2005 Virginia Governor Race
Thursday, June 30th, 2005A new Survey USA Poll is out, and it has Jerry Kilgore leading Tim Kaine 49%-39%.
Yes, you have it right. Kilgore leads by 10 points.
In the previous poll, Kilgore was only leading by four points.
Of course, it doesn’t matter if Bloomberg and Kilgore win landslides though. Republicans are doomed next year. So [...]
2008 GOP Primary Update
Thursday, June 30th, 2005George Allen recently was in the news.
And so too was Gov. Mike Huckabee.
And Gov. Romney.
Meanwhile, Bill Frist still is dealing with the self-perpetuating conundrum of mediocrity otherwise known as the U.S. Senate. Rudy G. still is scooping up hedge fund money like it was going out of style. And John McCain is . [...]
Idle Time, Idle Minds
Thursday, June 30th, 2005Quinnipiac University sure must have lots of idle time on its hands.
As indicated by that link, they’re “polling” Gov. Jeb Bush’s alleged “approval ratings” down in Florida.
Mmm, hmm.
I’ll go real slow here, so the good folks over at the Q might be able to follow along.
Ahem.
Gov. Bush was re-elected nearly three years ago, and by [...]
Why We Fight
Thursday, June 30th, 2005One of the major liberal Democratic attacks against the present Administration and the War in Iraq is that Iraq did not attack us on September 11th, that the hijackers were by and large from Saudi Arabia. These Democrats argue that the War in Iraq was a diversion from the War on Terror, that for [...]
Did Dean Just Misspeak, Again?
Thursday, June 30th, 2005I may have just missed it, but I have not seen anyone comment on the following quote by Howard Dean on Hardball last night:
There are terrible foreign terrorists over there. They have been drawn to Iraq, where they were not there before because we put our troops there. So, you could debate the [...]
